Celebrating 70 years of Plastic Coatings Ltd
We are extremely proud of our history here at Plastic Coatings Ltd, even more so as we mark our 70th year in 2022! Back in 1952, Nigel Vinson (now Baron Vinson) started a company (initially called Durable Coatings) in a ‘Nissen hut’ in Friary Square, Guildford, Surrey. The purpose of this company was to add durability and longevity to products produced by other local companies.

Following HM Governments announcement regarding relaxation of Covid-19 measures, Plastic Coatings Ltd are pleased to be able to confirm that we are once again open to visits from both customers and suppliers. We of course remain cautious and don’t want to put anyone at unnecessary risk! therefore we will continue to closely control visitors by insisting – All visits are pre-planned and pre-approved by the management team
Plastic Coatings integral to Safe Stadium Standing Trials
Plastic Coatings Ltd are proud to have been involved in the manufacturing of rail type seating systems that are being used for safe standing trials at football grounds. Our high performance thermoplastic coating was selected for the trial seating at the Manchester clubs and also at Chelsea. The benefits of using our thermoplastic coatings rather than using galvanise or a standard powder coat are – Warm to touch for user comfort
Merry Christmas to All
Plastic Coatings Ltd would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers, suppliers and employees a very Merry Christmas. We are closing for the festive break at 12:00 on Thursday 23rd December 2021. We won’t be accepting deliveries or collections after 10:00 on that day unless pre-organised with one of the team. We will re-open in the New Year at 08:00 on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

Health and Safety Edge Protection for Steel Erection Industry Plastic Coatings are proud to have been selected for another major contract with a leading fabricator to coat new edge protection barriers for the construction industry. We were selected for this project based on proven track record of applying good quality, long lasting coatings for demanding environments.

ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Certificate Renewals
Congratulations to the team at Plastic Coatings Ltd for successfully passing the certificate renewal audits for TS 16949 and ISO 9001. The certificate renewal audits had been delayed, like most things! due to Covid-19. But following a successful remote audit, we are very pleased to have passed the in depth 5 day audit by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance.
Replacing our manual Powder Coating Line
Plastic Coatings Ltd have been applying Electrostatic Powder Coatings onto customer product for nearly 50 years, which is about as long as the technology has been commercialised! In that time we have had several powder coating plants, all with their own unique benefits. Our oldest powder coating plant has been with us for most of that time and despite being well looked after it is time to replace it with a more energy efficient and environmentally friendly plant.

Christmas Opening Hours 2020
Plastic Coatings Ltd will be closed as follows during 2020′ festive period – Wednesday 23rd December – Closed for deliveries and collections from 11:00 am, Office closes at Midday. Monday 24th December – Closed for the Christmas period and until… Monday 4th January 2021 – Business re-opens as normal at 08:00. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers, our staff and our suppliers a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
