ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Certificate Renewals
Congratulations to the team at Plastic Coatings Ltd for successfully passing the certificate renewal audits for TS 16949 and ISO 9001. The certificate renewal audits had been delayed, like most things! due to Covid-19. But following a successful remote audit, we are very pleased to have passed the in depth 5 day audit by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance.
Replacing our manual Powder Coating Line
Plastic Coatings Ltd have been applying Electrostatic Powder Coatings onto customer product for nearly 50 years, which is about as long as the technology has been commercialised! In that time we have had several powder coating plants, all with their own unique benefits. Our oldest powder coating plant has been with us for most of that time and despite being well looked after it is time to replace it with a more energy efficient and environmentally friendly plant.
Another Oversized Product Succesfully Coated
This oversized gate measured at 6m long and 2m high. The coating specification was simple, it needs to look good and last outside for 10 years plus! We have a vast experience of coating items for the construction industry and we have wide range of coatings that we could choose for this application. We selected an attractive and cost effective electrostatic powder coat enhanced by a zinc rich primer improving the longevity and corrosion resistance of the finish.
Plastic Coatings Ltd, This month in 1969…
Back in 1969, Plastic Coatings Ltd were looking at ways to diversify beyond the application of specialist coatings onto customer supplied product. An idea was born, to use one of our dip coatings on a special mould tool in order to create a unique product. This went on to be an idea that secured Plastic Coatings Ltd position as an award winning innovator. Launched in November 1969, 320,000 pairs of Globoots were sold within a year.
Not just Plastic Coatings
Many of our long term customers will already know that Plastic Coatings Ltd are proud to offer a collection and delivery service in addition to the many and varied coating processes that we provide. On Friday October 18th, we took delivery of our brand new fleet of HGV’s. The vehicle graphics have been completely redesigned to closer match our marketing materials and our website design.
New Coating Facility for Large Parts Now Commissioned
Plastic Coatings Ltd are pleased to announce that our new coating plant designed to handle large and heavy components is now up and running and serving local manufacturers. This expansion of our already wide range of capabilities secures our position as a market leader in sub-contract coating operations. This new facility includes a newly manufactured 6m x 4m x 4m box oven with 1 wet spray paint booth and a new powder coating application facility to suit.

Plastic Coatings Ltd are extremely proud to announce that we have gained approval for the JCB supply chain The JCB Supply chain is a very demanding one, and rightly so! JCB vehicles are used to carry out some of the most demanding tasks in the world and they do so in some of the most demanding environments in the world. That’s why the coating systems and coating performance standards that JCB specify are so stringent.

Large Parts Coating Facility
Plastic Coatings Ltd is proud to unveil a further new Large Parts Coating Facility that delivers remarkable coating solutions for Construction, Rail, and Transport Infrastructure. In February 2023 we commissioned the construction of a versatile new coating facility to compliment our existing large parts facility, The new facility has been specifically designed to handle larger volumes of large and heavy components that require coating.
ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Audit Success
A great start to 2019! We started the year with an intensive 3 day combined ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 system audit, conducted by Lloyd’s Register. The audit was a huge success and a real boost to the teams morale as we enter 2019.
We take our responsibilities as a supplier very seriously and we fully understand that our customers need and want suppliers who demonstrate commitment to H&S and Environmental issues.

Electric Vehicle Technology and its development are very much the topic of the moment. If you’re involved in electric vehicle platform development you have likely considered the issues around transferring electrical energy cleanly and safely and as a result you’ve given electrical insulation lots of thought along the way. Plastic Coatings Ltd are currently working at the very forefront of thermoplastic coating application for electrical insulation.
