New Coating Facility for Large Parts Now Commissioned
Plastic Coatings Ltd are pleased to announce that our new coating plant designed to handle large and heavy components is now up and running and serving local manufacturers.
This expansion of our already wide range of capabilities secures our position as a market leader in sub-contract coating operations.
This new facility includes a newly manufactured 6m x 4m x 4m box oven with 1 wet spray paint booth and a new powder coating application facility to suit. The plant also includes a smaller refurbished box oven and a flat bed conveyor oven. The design of the facility offers excellent levels of flexibility in terms of coating large components whether these are one-offs, small batches or full scale production items.
These new items of plant will compliment our already extensive pre-treatment capabilities and our wide range of management system approvals.
The items shown here are 5.5m long, 1.5m wide and 1.5m high, weighing in at 500kg. The items were pre-galvanised and required a polyester powder top coat. Knowing the issues that occur with coating over galvanising, we worked with our extensive supply base to select a specialist anti-gassing polyester powder. As a result we have successfully coated 20 of these items, to a very high quality standard, with less than a 10 day turnaround!
