Shot Peening is a cold working process, in which the surfaces of components are subjected to substantial impact from small spherical pieces of media called ‘shot’ which reduces the risk of fatigue failure and thereby extended service life.

The contract coating of products with PVC plastisols is unique to Plastic Coatings Ltd. This cost effective coating solution is excellent for applications where chemical resistance, impact protection, thermal insulation, electrical insulation and abrasion resistance are required.

The application of Bonded Lubricants also takes place within the High Performance Section at Plastic Coatings Ltd. Applied in a similar fashion to PTFE coatings Bonded Lubricants have properties of their own.

The spraying of Thermoplastic Powders as opposed to the more common Electrostatic spraying of Epoxys and Polyesters also known as Thermoset materials (Powder Coating), is a speciality at Plastic Coatings.

The dipping of metal products into Thermoplastic powders is the oldest form of plastic coating and goes back to the time when Plastic Coatings was established in 1952.

Plastic Coatings Ltd have been applying powder coat or powder paint for more than forty years, we have six powder coating facilities to cater for small or large parts and small or large volume projects.

E-Coat, EP Paint, Electropaint, known by various names, has become established in recent years as an economical corrosion resistant finish or a high performance primer widely adopted by the automotive sector and increasingly popular in other sectors.

Any coating is only as good as its pre-treatment. The key to coating performance, whether its corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, coating adhesion etc is to have a properly applied coating over a suitable combination of pre-treatments.
